Life saver. I love this card and the freedom that comes with it. Use the software that comes in the box, simple yet effective. There are other online downloads with GPS that I didn't have much luck using. This card has standard drivers and is a breeze to set up...I just want it to work and this one hasn't let me down from airports to Starbucks.

Awesome, has x64 driver support
- September 19, 2008
In a short period of time Sierra has earned a great deal of my respect, particularly for their across-the-board support for x64 (64 bit) versions of Windows. I first tried their AC881, service provided by AT&T, which worked perfectly, but I read the fine print, did the math and found that usage over 5GB/month was going to cost me $500/GB! And according to the card, I used ~4.8GB in 8 days!! Potential to run-up a 4-figure data bill lacked appeal to me on so many levels, that I closed that account and jumped to Sprint.
Now I'm using Sierra's AC 595, which works flawlessly as well, and I am more than pleased with it! More, I found Sierra's support staff highly responsive and very professional. (I only contacted them to inquire about x64 driver support for their products.)
So I'd say my expectations have been exceeded, and then some.
If you are running, or plan to upgrade to 64 bit Windows, then you'll want to be sure you choose a card made by Sierra!

I've had trouble and am having more trouble!!!!!
- July 29, 2008
The card wouldn't work the second day i bought it.
Spent two and a half hours at the Sprint store to exchange the product and wished that there were chairs in their store as customer service was called repeatedly by the young man working diligently to figure out what the problem was with my computer in hand.
got an exchange that day.
i was thrilled for the most part with the second aircard, until tonight when i went to use my computer.
the aircard device wouldn't respond and then i looked at the component and the connector is moving around.
it's going back to the store tomorrow and i'm not ready to stand in there another part of a day to see if the two guys can figure out what's wrong this time.
it's obvious.
my 30 day thing is fast approaching and i'm returning it.
i'm typing now on a work computer which has a verizon wireless card and that seems to work more dependably than this sprint doodad.
and no, i wasn't too rough with the aircard.
i'm in my fifties and patient.

Love it!
- May 18, 2008
Love the 595, no real complaints at all....occaisionally have trouble connecting but I just wait a few seconds and try again. Way easier to use than I thought it would be. Went from dark ages dial up to this card and was amazed, found out it is even faster than the local DSL.!!
Why are there a bunch of phone reviews on this page??

I'm not pleased at all with the performance of this unit. Slower than dial up. Never seem to be able to have a good fast connection. A waste of money.

A good Card, when it was new
- January 3, 2008
I have been using the Sierra 595 for more than a year now with good reliability, that and not to mention speeds when in REV A areas are very good. I like the idea of not having to be tied to looking for wifi or other hookups when needing access. I use the card both in my primary and work laptop when mobile and have it hooked into the Linksys broadband capable router at home for my ISP. I ended up dropping DSL shortly after getting the router, as I was able to benchmark better results using the card over DSL and the card has never lost service due to line or weather troubles as DSL had.
I later setup a Merlin S720 with the same router for a family member who was not in a DSL/Cable capable market and was more impressed with the GPS enabled card. I would suggest the S720 over the Sierra hands down without giving it a second thought. I am not impressed that I can't upgrade without extending my service for another 2 years or paying the full $300 price tag, so it's a good thing that this card is still going.
I would not pay more than the $99 for this card, it's good, however when you can get the S720 for $99 w/$50 off rebate, I am not sure this card is in its prime as it was over a year ago...

Excellent Wireless Broadband
- December 3, 2007
So far, I have only used this in Northern California. Installation was a breeze in Windows and Linux. Now I often use a Cr@dlep01nt EVD0 r@@ter so I don't need to have the modem hanging onto my laptop. Speeds are excellent and I was even able to connect at our Summer house in Pollock Pines, CA whereas my old C12gu1@r card could not. The USB connectivity make it universally compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac; laptop or desktop.

Perfect for Travel
- February 15, 2007
I've been traveling with this card for about four months now and love it. Installation was simple, connectivity is easy and performance has been great (especially with the expansion of the EVDO Rev. A network). I don't need to look for WIFI hot spots or use slow airport connections anymore. I even use it when the corporate or home networks are down.
Initially, I had a difficult time knowing when I was in a Rev.A or Rev. 0 area and then I learned there was a software update I required to upgrade the card to Rev. A. The cards may be sold with the upgraded software now but you want to make sure you have it by clicking on Software Updates once you install the device.
