Now out of date but still pretty junkie

The real problem is the thing burns through batteries. I have another device which I use most of the time which is way better but does not have the batter. So from time to time I need to use this device so I can put it in my pocket. Every time I go to use it I need a new battery.

Limited useage not as fast as you think

Not really good with accessing online school. When you have papers to write and videos to watch... this system is WAY TOO SLOW. If this was the late 90's, it would be perfect. There have been many of times I have been timed out because its too slow. It also seems during peak times is the worse.
But its great to have if you don't have access... for some odd reason, when I am traveling, its perfect for on the road. So maybe its the built in antena that causes the problem.
Also, you can only get about a good 40 minutes of use before it gets so hot. At that point, it doesn't transmit anything. Then you have to wait for about 30minutes for it to cool down before you can acccess the internet again.
But if you are only surfing the web or emailing, its cool. But if you are in school, it may be more a headache than a life saver.

The Data speed for this device are abyssmal, and not worth anyone buying as soon as my contract is up I am canceling.

Unreliable

I have had this device for almost a year and am disappointed with it. It is very slow compared to other 3G devices/networks. I has a tendency to disconnect, then it has to go through the process of reconnecting, so you might as well forget about downloading large files. It is very unreliable and don't use it very much anymore. But the sad thing is I'm stuck with this lemon for 2 years.

I've owned my Mifi for over a year and it is great. I carry it with me everywhere. I use it at home and away with my laptop and I use it with my itouch to connect when I don't have my laptop with me. I've never "knock on wood" found a spot I couldn't use it in. The monthly fee is a little more than I would pay for internet service for my home, but it is sure worth the difference to me. I have my internet on me at all times.

I have tried this product for over six months and the connection speed is just too slow. I have three computers and one is only four months old. The connection speed is terrible, yet the signal strength reads as excellent. I teach and I have to grade papers submitted on line. It is long and tedious due to the MiFi. Please do not purchase this device unless you just loved dial up.

Handy little thing! I love whipping it out during meetings, and being the only one able to connect when the building's wifi is not adequate (almost always!). I also live in a wifi sparse area. Great to use my laptop anywhere!

Good for when you can not get WIFI, however when you change PC, software not as friendly. Normally gets a signal wherever you are.

I use it mainly when traveling and it works fantastic for my laptop. Just love its size and battery life!
On a side note I had it on for a friend on AT&T who didnt have 3G coverage and my MIFI did. He is now a sprint customer!

The MIFI Gets Hot And There Needs To Be A Place For An External Antenna. Good For Me Because I Live Out In The Country Where There Is No Other Option. I Would Not Put The MIFI In My Pocket Because Of The Heat Problem.

Great product - I am trading up to the EVO 4G built-in hotspot - but this was a revolutionary product for its time -- a secure wireless hotspot in a credit card sized package! Yes, it runs a little hot, and no, the battery doesn't last all day --but it allows my family and me to access the 'net on the road for work and play. It's nice to be able to stream Netflix at the airport -- or to have access to the Web in a hotel or coffee shop where it is either unavailable or too expensive. Highly recommended for anyone who leaves the house with their laptop or wi-fi enabled device (or as a substitute for home internet service for those with dial-up or satellite).

Bad battery life, but a workhorse none the less

Works as advertised... but be forewarned... it has a very poor battery life and is very temperamental about how it is charged. I charges fine via the massive adapter it comes with... but who wants to lug that everywhere? I thought that a USB cable would do the trick, but alas, it works ONLY if it is connected to some other internet source or is in sleep mode.

May not be the absolute best internet solution, due to limits, but the speeds are excellent and have not had any problems with the device. It beats the pants off my dial up internet or satellite internet, which is slow and expensive. I have recommended the service to my in-laws who have satellite internet and are not happy with the unreliability and slow speeds.

Close but no cigar

This is a good idea but Sprint needs major upgrades. Start with longer battery life. I have had the card for two weeks now and am going to give it back. If I let it go idle for more than 30 minutes I have to reset the card. This is a known problem and the only way to fix it is to reset the power management. there goes your 5Gb.

I HAVE HAD THIS DEVICE FOR A WEEK AND ITS THE BEST, I RUN 2 LAPTOPS (KIDS USE) FROM IT AT THIS TIME WITH NO CONNECTION PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER, I DOES GET A BIT WARM WHILE IN USE, BUT NOTHING MAJOR, THE 30 FOOT DISTANCE IS ACCEPTABLE BEING INSIDE A HOUSE FROM ROOM TO ROOM CONNECTIONS, I WENT FROM A AIR CARD TO THIS DEVICE WHAT A MAJOR DIFFERENCE BEING ABLE TO CONNECT 2 DEVICES AT A TIME (OR EVEN 3 MORE)WITHOUT HAVING TO SHARE AN AIR CARD.
