I started with the Siera but had lots of problems with it. After several hours on the phone with Customer Service, they finally said my problem was the device and that they had had lots of problems with it. They sent me the Merlin and all my problems ended. The only draw back is that is sticks straight out from the side of my laptop and I have to be very careful not to bump it. I'd like to see someone make a device that conforms with the side of the laptop.

I have had this for over two and a half years. I thought I needed this to use with my Macbook Pro. Then I discovered the small routers that accept the card and wireless connect with my 2 Macbooks, two iPhones and iPod Touch. With a small inverter my router travels with me everywhere. The EX720 usually gets about a megabit download speed if there is a good signal and low usage of the towers. When tower usage goes up then performance goes down. But this is not the fault of the card, Sprint needs more bandwidth. If you have a need for the Express Card size then this card should work for you.

I'm a former Verizon customer. Sprint has the best service and coverage. Wireless mobility and value. The other companies are 25% cheaper and 50% less coverage. Do the math. Our family has two cards and recently went fully wireless. That's right, no more AT&T land line. We're online from SF to LA on I-5 doing 1.2 mbps. Netflix, Youtube, MySpace, Limewire, the kids are wireless. Monterey to SF on 101 is 1.2+ mbps even in the rain. Sprint had the foresight to build the towers. Reno and Tahoe are 1.2+.

when i download music or go on a site with a media player, it takes a while. Especiallyn when I go on netflix; kinda slow.

I use this card while on my boat. Mostly offshore between Boston and Key West. Usually 2-12 miles off the beach. Works in every east coast port/city/town I've been to. Gets 8-12KB/sec at 10 miles off the beach. Up to 110KB close-in. Plugged this into a wireless router, and my clients have internet while at sea. For some, it's a major deciding factor on getting return customers. Antenna port is a plus.

this card is fine, the only problem wiht the whole process is the TWO YEAR CONTRACT! I can find little problem wiht the application and the hardware, but Sprint had better wake up and realise they are NOT the only game in town these days! to GET THE OPPORTUNITY to spend 60 bucks a month you must agree to spend it for 24 months or 1440.00!!!! That is a pretty big committment! that took me two years to make the jump !! they woudl find it much more profitable to allwo a little more loose commitment!!

I got this card because I had to; Im not sure if its the software or wireless itself that allowed me to have so many viral issues but my PC ran much faster and safer when I went back to cable.
The card itself is very delicate and I actually broke mine... installation was a nightmare... and the Sprint Rep is the one that had the trouble doing it.
Faster than dial up - but not all its chatted up to be.

I purchased this card a while ago. In fact, I first had the Pantech card but my laptop died and I decided to get a new one with the Express Card slot not eve thinking that the Pantech card would not work with it. That was a silly error on my part though. Once I got the new laptop, I loved it and did not want to take it back so figured it was better to get a new Mobile Broadband card. This is where the Novatel EX720 came in. It was more costly than I had hoped but I have been quite satisfied with its performance and I have not had any problems with it. Overall, i am quite happy.

I bought this card for my new laptop. It's a little pricey but it performs flawlessly. The connection manager could be a little better but the connection is great. I have used this card with Windows XP and now Vista. I don't have any problems with either OS. Not sure what the other poster was talking about with lockups. Haven't had one yet.

Works perfectly always get a extremely good signal never get a desktop again I got a dell laptop with vista and the internet is pretty much instant , downloads extremely fast . All in all I love it I wouldnt go with any other network . 10 +

When you create software, you need to build in fault tollerance in to it. This software is always locking up, getting confused, etc. several times a day. I have to get task manager to kill it, then unplug the card, reboot and start over. There is no other way to recover from the lock up, I've tried. To make matters worse, the version update won't even load itself without failing. And the lack of speed. Works great at 2 am, but during the evening, well, maybe email, maybe.
On the up side, I can get signal almost anywhere.
Same problem with your phone software. Thing locks up about 3 times a week. You have to pull the battery and restart it . . .

Got one of these from 3gstore (excellent service and support) with a Novatel Expresscard to PC Card adapter. Works perfectly with the Sprint Connection Utility for Novatel that came with an S720 I had been borrowing previously. So far I've had it working perfectly under Windows and Linux, haven't had a chance to try it in OSX yet. I've had the GPS working in about 6 clicks with Mappoint 2006 with no hassle at all. I'm not sure whether roaming with the data card incurs extra charges but I'll let you know next month I guess. :-/

Product and service have far exceeded my expectations, superfast and no siganl interruptions, easy installation, though online and phone sales leave much to be desired, only help came from in-store sales staff, very pleased with this product, highly recommended
