Good phone for what it is...

I got this phone as a hold-over until I could get the new HTC Touch Pro, but now I'm going to hold off until the next latest greatest phone. This phone is light on software (no speed-dial) and still has 1.1 bluetooth, but the only real issue I have with the phone is the lack of access to the latest high-speed internet access. If it had that and the 2.0 bluetooth, I would be keeping this one for years. No reboot issues, seems very stable.

Best phone I've had!

I've had this phone for about 2-1/2 years. The first one I got had screen probs after dropping it. Thank goodness for insurance! Bought a silicone cover for the next one, which I am still using today! The slick finish was obviously a problem. I'd be happier with a little longer battery life, but overall, this is a great phone! Fitting all the functions of a smart-phone into a small package AND making it both reliable and durable is a VERY tall order. Considering the age of this phone, and where the technology was when it was new, this is an EXCEPTIONAL phone. Sure, it can't do everything that today's phones can do, but most of the phones that were competing when it was new aren't even in service anymore. And I LOVE the Palm operating system!

This phone is not worth a darn! It freezes up and Sprint keeps saying it's this and that instead of replacing this old phone. Can't wait till July 14th-switching to a company that cares about their LONG TIME customers and makes an effort to fix problems! If it weren't for contracts I'd been gone a year ago when this garbage phone started acting up!

Kind of Tired of all the problems

I am just tired of all the the problems and excuses for this phone. Dropped programs, powering off, locked keys, resets.............fed up and tired.

I've had my 650 for 3 1/2 years! I've dropped it so many times, including from a moving car, and it's still kicking. Yeah, I have to reset it more often now, but this thing's been a workhorse for all my email, Google Maps, Real Player, camera, Hot Sync, bluetooth, you name it. Love it.

It's a great PDA, and a terrible phone. Poor coverage, even near major metropolitan areas. I drop calls at least 10 times each day...voicemail is only indicated when Treo feels like informing me that there is a message. Thank goodness my contract is up!

Not my favorite phone

I used to have a Palm PDA and a separate cell phone, so it made sense when I needed a new phone to upgrade and combine the two... Only problem, this isn't a good phone. It re-boots at random (and seldom convenient) times, and drops calls. I like the palm software/calendar/address book, but it really is the phone that's the problem. If you're considering buying this phone, I'd reconsider!

I have been a user of Palm products in the past, but this is my first PDA Phone. I'm terribly disappointed in the performance of the phone. It constantly reboots for no reason, and has glitches galore! Now I'm rethinking getting another PDA phone in favor of just using a regular cell phone again.

Great Phone! Will Miss It When I Upgrade!

I've loved this phone from day one! The only problems were the extremely slick finish made it too easy to drop. (solution: a silicone cover!) And I had to go looking for music player software. (Easily found!) Overall, this has to be the best phone I've had. I've loved the Treos all along, and this one has been the best I've owned. Now that the Centro is out, I'll probably upgrade, but I'm dragging my feet because I love my Treo so much. I'll be sad when I retire it.

DROPS CALLS AND SHUTS OFF

This phone is the second one I got. The first one was having problems with dropping calls constantly. I got this one as a replacement for that one and this one is EVEN WORSE! This one not only drops every call, it also shuts off randomly. I paid a lot of money for this phone and it is not worth it!

I had this phone for a short period of time, and out of nowhere, the phone was just gone. The battery wouldnt charge, the charger never fit right and I always had to wrap the cable around the phone to keep a charge, but the battery never kept the charge. the phones problems were so bad that sprints repair center, couldnt even fix my phone so they had to get me a new one, which i got the palm centro and I think it is invincible compared to this phone.

It's Okay...just okay!

When I bought the phone it was $500. I recieved a discount which made it $350. Still a lot, but much better than $500...which was the ONLY reason I decided to get it. The battery life is good. I stay on the phone talking, txting, and using the internet for hours each day and usually never have a problem. The look and feel good except when the front cover cracks...AND IT WILL CRACK. Thank God for insurance because my phone has cracked at least 5 times and is currently cracked RIGHT NOW! It performs good. It freezes up once or twice a month and usually powers off ITSELF...a little weird...but Im used to it now. There are a million features. I like them all. If I could change one thing...it would be the fact that once you make a 3-way call, you CANNOT hang up on the 2nd caller once you are finished talking to them. You have to hang up on everybody and then call the 1st caller back. The media software was good...the title applies here. It's just okay!

Top notch phone setting the standard for the rest!

The 650's only real drawback is the little antenna. If that thing gets damaged, your phone is pretty much useless. Other than that, this is a pretty slick package! Everything is in there and easy to use and access from bluetooth to the Internet to email accounts to an incredible addressbook and contacts and photos and videos. A great deal for a great price.

I'VE HAD THE SAME 650 FOR TREE YEARS AND I HAVEN'T HAD IT REPAIRED YET. I EVEN DROPPED IT AND ALL THE PIECES FLEW IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. I PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND AS SOON AS I GOT THE LAST PIECE ON------IT RANG, IT WAS MY MOTHER CALLING. I WISH IT WOULD BREAK SO THAT I CAN GET A NEW PHONE---BUT THIS 650 JUST DOSE'NT QUIT!

Great Phone...if you have insurance

I have had 2 treo 650's, and at least I can say Thank God for insurance. When the phones worked, they were great. I am the kind of person who loves to do 5 different things at one time, and the phone always kept up with me while I was switching between apps. The problem that both my 650's came to was software failure (I now have been upgraded to the 700...we'll see how that goes). Up until the days I used them they had no problems, the boom...just won't turn on anymore. It is a shame too. I love using the palm software, but I'm loosing faith in their products (I am aware Palm is now owned by Access, so let's hope things improve).

Don't waste your $

I've had my Treo for a little over a year. You'd think a smart phone would be able to send picture or video mail, but you'd be wrong. You'd think you could push microsoft exchange server email to your phone. Wrong again. I regularly lose my internet connection and have to take my battery out to reset the phone. My phone consistently freezes up during phone calls. Can't hang up or do anything else, I have to take the battery out to reset the phone.
The web browser is nice, the ability to change mp3 to ringtones is fun. Cool that I can play MP3s, but the mono sound through the earphones, suck as well as the fact that I can't use any other headphones with this phone except for the crappy ones that came with the phone that have buds so big they constantly fall out of my ears.
It has a speakerphone, but you can't use it because no one can hear you. You can use a bluetooth headset, but again, no one can hear you. What a waste of my money.

This device is an absolute disappointment. Other than a decent battery life I have nothing worthy to say about this phone. The WIndows based programs lock-up, and fail, constantly. Blue tooth is not reliable. It will at will determine when blue tooth will stop functioning, connection are also difficult to maintain. Programs lock-up, or shut you out. Access to your phone many times requires removing the battery to reset the device. The device will at random initiate any program that it would like to run at that particular moment. Phone calls periodically "LOCK" and can not be hung up, or answered. Truly this device has been nothing but a nightmare. I like the options this item provides, but the functional capacity of this device will leave you, as it did me, extremely upset. Others seem to have reception problems, this is an issue that I have not yet encoutered to a degree that would cause me anguish.Howere, the dollar to value ratio is definately not in the consumers favor.

I have had a TREO for over 5 years now, or whenever they came out, and the 650 has been the most dissapointing. The reason is that I had high expectations of a phone that was in development for so long. Unfortunately, the performance is weak and the technology is now behind the times. Compared to some new other options it really fails to compete as it once did. I'll be replacing it with an iPhone or a Sprint supported phone, if I get a fantastic deal on a PDA.
