Pros: Durable, Great photos, Great sound, Stylish
I have read the reviews on this phone and they are wrong. First let me say I have had this phone for almost two years now with NO PROBLEMS! The thing I like about this phone is that its small and compact like my old samsung. I will always buy samsung phones. Anyway this phone has had several droppings and still survives everyone. Has been wet a couple of times too. Samsung was nice to include a micro sd card which has been handy. One trick about the battery life is too lower the brightness on the screen, and when the battery is getting low just put it into the power save mode. The battery does drain more when you do pair it up with a blue-tooth device, and have not had any problems with bluetooths either. I have used Motorolla and Jabra on this phone and still works. Will even pair with my 1998 Sony Clie Palm. Since im not a big texter due but a talker the phone has been great for me. I was disappointed after sprint droped this phone only after a short time. Overall I would buy this phone all over again. Just buy the case and the car charger and you are set. Samsung did an excellent job designing and making this phone.

I HATE this phone-the worst EVER!!!

I absolutely HATE-yes hate this phone..i have already replaced it twice. I refuse to replace it again..this is also my 3rd charger for this phone.it absolutely sucks-sprint should be sued for marketing these phones-they have the worst quality. the phone freezes, screen turns white, you can hardly hear the people you call. everything about this phone sucks. A few people say they like this phone-oh its so nice and pretty and works absolutely great-just wait a couple months it'll break just like everyone elses. I would recommend this phone to-ABSOLUTELY NO ONE!!! the worst phone ever. if i would have known it would be like this i wouldnt have wasted my time looking at it or spending my money on it.

Luv this phone!

I was a little hesitant to buy this phone because the Sprint One Click software was quite a bit different from my old phone, but I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did!
It takes very good pictures (better than most camera phones), and I especially love the fact that it is a flip phone with a fully functional QWERTY keyboard. I've received tons of compliments on its uniqueness and color (purple).
Buy one - You won't be sorry!

Great Looking Phone, Lacking Some Features

I love the look of this phone, which I have, but I'm already getting tired of using the keyboard for text messaging! My only complaint is that it's had problems pairing with my bluetooth headset (which I've had for a while and never had any issues with before). Occationally it will lock up in the middle of applications, or something as simple as composing a text message.

Don't get this phone

I had this phone for 9 months and the screen just started turning white. I started messing with it turning it off and on to fix it. Then one day every time I closed the ohone it went white. So I had to keep the phone open with everything I did. Now it is white all the time and I have to get a new phone. The media products for it stink and the volume is not loud at all. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE.

Right now I'm on my 3rd one the first 1 I had froze up and the second 1 was dropping calls and losing internet connections,so to play it safe I purchased a Samsung Instinct s30 & a BlackBerry Curve because I decided to use the my M520 very sparingly

Well I had my original M520 for nearly a year. I'd heard that some people were having probs with the screen going white but it had never happened to me til about 11 months in, maybe because of a phone download or whatever. I do text alot and have downloaded about 5 songs total. I use the net quite often, watch tv, and even listen to music. I'd never had the problem so this time was unusual but it really wasn't that bad. I called Sprint and they sent me a new one without charge, even though I have the insurance. I didn't have to make a claim and pay the deductible at all. I was very pleased with the customer service. My new phone was overnighted and I had it activated at the store. Unfortunately this 2nd phone had a virus or something because I wasn't able to access the web. Well I'm patient so I just took the phone back to the repair center the next day, a Saturday, left the phone with them and went to the mall for an hour. When I returned, they had given me a 3rd brand new phone that worked perfectly. In fact, the case for my original phone had cracked and they just GAVE me a new one. A few days later I went back and told the rep that my car charger wasn't working well and they GAVE me one of those too. I've been with Sprint for years and I really don't have any complaints.

My wife and I both had this phone. Hers went first then mine a week later, replacements are junk do not get them. Will not stay powered up, screens go blank, and buttons do not work. Poor ring tones, slider gets sticky real quick, so it takes two hands to open. Had to go to highnote hope it will be better.

It's an ok phone. I've had it for around 10 months now. The ringer and speaker for your ear is a bit lacking on the volume side. The reception is decent, but not as good as some others. No problems so far with sliding mechanism or with screen. It's easy to use and navigate. Sometimes, if you're trying to call someone at the same time they're calling you it freezes up. Nothing overly impressive, but it works.

Pretty Good Phone

I have had this phone for several months now, close to a year, and I have not had your typical problems yet. I was very surprised by the reviews that I have read about this phone. I dropped mine in the toilet the other day, (gross!), and let it dry out for 24 hours and it works fine. The only thing that I don't like about it, is that it falls out of my pocket, hince the toilet, too often. Other than that I like my phone. I do not text, and do not download music or anything, so I cannot attest to those features, but I feel they would work great, should I need them. I would not have gotten this phone if it had not been for the rebate. I am not the kind of person to spend more than $100 on a phone, no matter what. The only thing I use them for is to talk, so it is not worth it to me. Overall I would recommend this phone.

This is the worst phone i have ever had ! the phone constantly freezes up and the screen turns white. it was great the first two months i had it, but after that it just started freezing up when i recieved calls, texts, or was taking a picture. do not get this phone, it's horrible.

I owned this phone for 12 months, Samsung had it for repair 8 times. And I recieved the phone back from Samsung after the again fixed it and assured me it was 100% and sold it. Screen stopped working , flex cable broke. Other party couldnt hearing when calling....etc.......

This phone is not the best phone ever but what can you exspect of a samsung? Like other people who have this phone it has frozen up on me. I really hope i don't have to replace it but the price isn't bad. Texting is okay. I like the T9 Word on it but for some weird reason i don't like the font don't ask me why. The battery life is also okay because if i charge it up all the way then let the battery go down some and by chance put it back on the charger, the battery life goes down A LOT. I text a lot so the battery doen't last quite a whole day. Talk is fine mostly. I'm probably going to get another phone though. Overall it's fine for people who just need a reasonable cell phone for talk and some text but i can't tell you about the internet because i don't use it. Hope this helps! :]

I have had my phone now for about 1 year. Well this is my second one. My first phone was traded in because the music app was malfunctioning. I received a new one and had to re-download all my music. They didn't tell me I needed a larger memory card. Well I am having problems once more and this time its my music app again, only this time I can't even access it. I am very busy and really don't have time to be running back and forth to the sprint store to have my phone fixed. I don't even bother, which sucks because I haven't been able to listen to my music for quite some time now. I can't wait til I'm eligible for my upgrade-another 6 months, I just hope I pick a better phone.

A game of chance with this phone

I have always had a flip-phone since my first cell a couple years ago. I had a few samsungs before this one and figured i couldn't go wrong with another one....I was wrong. Now don't get me wrong this is a great phone on paper. It does everything I need it to do. It's nothing too special but definitely capable of carrying out basic functions with ease. I had this phone for 6 months and then it began acting up. The screen began going all white and then going back to normal when the screen went dark. I thought this was happening because of something I did, but I later found out this is a very common issue with this phone. After about a month and a half this problem began worsening and would not go back to normal for a day or so. Then finally the screen stopped working altogether and went all white for good. I contacted sprint but could not get a replacement without costing me money because i didn't have insurance on it. I sent it into Samsung where they replaced the damaged part (lcd screen wiring) and shipped it all for free. This is covered in the manufacturer's 1 year warranty. Since getting the fixed phone back I haven't had any problems but I'm sure in another few months this problem will occur again. Good phone besides that. A few problems with the sliding action and freezing every once in awhile. Battery lasts well enough for me. about a day and a half on powersave mode. Good phone for $50 but don't count on it to be a long lasting or 100% reliable phone. Samsung needs to step up their quality or I won't be buying another one.

Love the slide. Texting is not that good. When talking at times sound like I am talking between two tin cans...can hear myself in the phone hollow sound..Ringers are terrible...volume in not loud enough even all the way up. I just use my phone as a phone and some texting, but when I have tried to use for the Web is takes way too long to do anything..
But I used it international a few months ago and it work perfect!...go figure!!!

The phone is junk, if you get a call while you text the phone will freeze up, if pic mail comes in while using the phone the phone will stop working, your pic's look like a child took them and they are not clear. This is the 3rd one that I have had in one year. the features are good when you can get them to work, however keep your money and try a LG, for better preformance.

Don't like the fact that the headset plugs into same place as charger. I talk alot on the phone and have to put people on speaker and charge it, cause the battery gets low. only had it 2 months. my former phone was a samsung m500 and much better. Wish I hadn't of upgraded another 2 year contract. I do not refer this phone to anyone.

Glad I am not alone

I have had this phone for a year and I have gone through two. The first time, I simply filled up my memory card. The music app on my phone would not work and I took it to the Sprint store. They fiddled with it and gave it back. When the app continue to malfunction, they gave me another one. THEY NEVER TOLD ME TO GET A BIGGER MEMORY CARD! It was not until I called the Sprint customer service line that the problem was fixed. Today I took my phone in because it has stopped charging. They're sending me a new one, which I will give back for an upgrade. This was a major mistake in purchase and I am so thankful that I am eligible for an upgrade.
