Pros: Stylish, qwerty keypad
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Confusing interface, blurry pictures, alarm clock bugged, poor calendar functions, mp3 player issues
There are numerous bugs with this phone. It looks great and is ok for IM, texting and email.
The locked mode doesn't always unlock with the appropriate key strokes.
The mp3 player doesn't always like files transferred from a PC. If the Rant doesn't like one song, you cannot play any songs until that one is deleted. Good luck figuring out which one (or two) when you transfer 100+ songs.
The imager is 2MP. Most pictures are blurry unless there is good lighting and no movement.
The calendar is limited to around 50 entries. It doesn't always organize appointments by time so a 5PM appointment might be listed above an 11 AM appointment.
If you EVER use the snooze feature on the alarm it will retrigger the snooze alarm EVERY day. The only way to "disable" the everyday snooze is to delete and reenter the alarm.
Having used both, I recommend a Blackberry over the Rant.

better than Ok phone

My first phone. I like the big buttons on the keyboard. Some people would say the phone is bulky, but it felt like it was very durable to me, and indeed, I've dropped it more than a few times. Sometimes the phone will freeze up, but it usually clears up fast. I don't like how if you record something it can't be a ringtone. The battery life lasts me about 12 hours, and I text a lot. It charges really fast, which I thought was a bonus. Overall, this is a good phone.

Rant about my Rant

I was totally excited to get this phone. I was switching from a Centro, which was way more phone than I needed... But now, I have the same problems with it everyone else is having:
-It freezes
-Slow browser
-Short battery life
-Slow browser

I'm going to try and get a new phone. This thing makes me so angry sometimes! Love the style & color, but it frustrates the heck outta me when I have to pull the battery out to get it to do ANYTHING. Ugh.
On the positive side of things, this thing has been dropped many times, and it hasn't broken. Guess that's good. :)

Freezing

Web browser can not even bring up my router config page! might as well not even have so called web on this phone. Keyboard is usable but small for my taste. Constantly have issues where the phone seems laggy. For some reason i have to press * then back then end to get out of key lock where it should only be * then back. They really might as well just pull this phone off the market with what is comeing out now i imagine most people with this phone are disapointed with the web browser.

I have had 3 of these phones in less than 90 days. The first I had for about 2 months as a replacement for my Rumor 1, which lasted 18 months. The first Rant had a system malfunction, so I lost all of my contacts and pictures. The 2nd phone didn't go online upon arrival, the third phone turns off by itself for whatever unknown reason. I just want a phone that works!!

I love my phone. I love to text and this phone is just what I need. It even has sprint navigation which tells my husband and I when to turn and how long it is going to take to get there.

The battery life is great, I love samsung products. But I have recently found that my phone would not hold the programming so I was sent a refurbished one that still had some problems. Some of the applications had been installed wrong. But as with my original, they freeze up every so often and that can get very annoying. Sometimes the applications will stop working or pause and only half work. I also found that my speakers start to crackle and pop.

1st phone I've had and its horrible

this was my very 1st phone. it freezes up on me all the time. the response time for multitasking is poor. i would not recommend this phone for anyone I've had it for about 4 months and I've gone threw about 5 phones with me only doing the damage to one. this not a good phone.

This phone is actually a really good phone overall. although i did have problems with it. I have to send the messages like 3 times for people to get them. i dont know if its my phone or theirs but i had to send them. and since the speaker button is sticking out, if you have a message and you press against the speaker button it will call. the key lock is not the best. but other than those two problems and freezing up its a really good phone. i love it. but would love it more if it had some changes.

With the microSD card, you can have limitless mp3s with you at all times as well as easy access to any pictures you take. Very easy to take pictures from your computer and add to phone for screensaver as well. I have been using this phone for 6 months now and love it.

I had an M300 that was junk and this phone has really turned my sprint experience around. Its great for messaging and general use but is a bit bulky. But on the upside it is extremely durable. It fell off the roof of my car while driving and im still using it. Great phone, would definately recomend.
