Cons: battery life
I absolutely love this phone, but i must charge it 3 times a day. I am a texter, I am always looking up things on google (which this phone makes really easy) so the use puts a strain on the battery life which is understandable. I turned off the location thingy and the wireless which helps but still. I bought chargers for the blackberry curve (etc) on ebay cheap and just carry one with me, have one in the car, and one at home. This was I am safe rather than sorry, its my only complaint.
Otherwise the phone is amazing. Takes sometime to get use to for sure and def. read the manual!

Amazing phone!

This phone is amazing! I've had mine for over a month now and can't imagine using anything else. The responsiveness of the touchscreen is great! The ability to automatically sync everything from my Google contacts/calendar is a great time-saving feature. The battery life is adequate...gets through the day, but by evening time, it's needing a charge. I've never had the phone die completely though! I'm sold on HTC...like they say..."Quietly Brilliant!"

Pros: Custom themes, Great sound, Stylish
Cons: Did not meet expectations, listed in review
Way too many querks to be really functional right now...its fun and looks good, but bluetooth, battery, mail,memory,no apps on SD, etc...Should have been released when 2.0 was available for it and all the problems listed were addressed and solved...I like my phone, but it could have been released in alot better condition, funcionally speaking...

Love this phone

I am probably one of the most tech challenged people I know, but I love this phone. With the help of the Basic Guide, some really helpful Sprint Customer Service people, and just figuring out things myself, I have had the best time with this phone. I am still learning some of the features but the Voice Search is great, and I have no problem with the wireless. Texting is no problem. I wish the camera was a little better, but I have a camera, so I don't really need my phone to be a camera. I am so happy I bought the HTC Hero. Sometimes I even use it as a phone, lol.

I loved this phone. I am switching to Sprint from Verizon. This really feels like a phone. I have used Blackberries in the past and I currently love my Pearl. This phone has wonderful apps. The touch screen takes a little getting used to, but overall it is a wonderful phone. The android software is really going to take off. I believe that this application will rival the iPhone. It will just have to take time.

phone goes done in flames in 3 weeks

After only having the phone for 3 weeks, my phone decided to crash one morning. It would not let me doing anything including making calls. The only features that I was able to get to work on it was my alarm clock, which makes it my most expensive alarm clock I have ever bought,and the calendar.

Cons: too many features for some users, battery life
The HTC Hero has all of the standard features buyers are looking for in a phone; such as, speaker phone, easy dialing, call clarity, etc. In fact, I have much better reception with the HTC Hero than with any other phone I've had through Sprint. However, I would not suggest this phone for technically challenged individuals or new cellphone users. For them, the millions of features may overwhelm. Many reviews speak of how great the phone is and what it can do; therefore, I will just tell you about the features I enjoy most - perhaps you'll enjoy these as well. Through the Ambling Book Player I can listen to hundreds of ebooks. Most books are classics but if you know where to look you can find many other subjects and titles. Additionally, I love that I can read books through the Aldiko reader. The Sprint Navigation or GPS works splendidly, Pandora Internet Radio streams flawlessly (even better than on my pc), and the SPB TV apps allows me to watch some TV (very limited mind you). Also, I can watch full length movies through Sprint TV. I am not much of a gamer but have found most games in the Android Market to be very basic. Lastly, I enjoy the Facebook app and the ease of surfing the web. Even though I have a laptop, I find myself using my phone more because the phone is easy to use, fast, and more portable. I am truly in love with the little device and if you happen to purchase the HTC Hero, you will not be disappointed.

I have had my Hero for about a week. So far I am very impressed. Most of my friends have the iphone. I have been with Sprint for years, like the plans, so was so happy to finally find a phone that really competes with their iphones. Love the facebook and contact sync. ANDRIOD really can compete with the apple app store as well. If you want a phone with a great browser, fun and useful apps, great NFL and ESPN extras, as well as being very customizable, this is the phone for you.
The one CON would be the battery life. I still need to find an app in the store to fix that!

Best Android Phone on Market

Cons: wish screen was a bit bigger, camera's great but wish it had a flash, processor could be a bit beefier, wish it came in black at least
The is the best Sprint phone I have ever had the pleasure of owning and operating. Very customizable. If you're familiar with Android, this phone greatly enhances Android's already amazing standard customizable features. Voice quality & 3G data transmissions have been very good and very reliable. Hero is well built, and feels solid & high quality. HTC knows how to make solid Android devices. This is their most exciting one, yet.
Battery life is great. Full charge and moderate use with the right settings should last all day, easily. Call & voice quality were exceptional. Callers said I sound loud and crisp, as they did, too. Speaker phone is loud, and crisp with little distortion. Phone is well built and has a quality feel to it. Camera is 5 MP and despite not having a flash, pictures come out great with the autofocus feature. Media playback is impressive for Android. Sprint TV even impressed me with streaming with virtually no bad image quality, which was astounding to say the least.
Performance was great, but with a more powerful processor and more RAM, could be even more phenomenal, but otherwise, is on par with other smartphones. I did notice that MMS/SMS/E-mails upload stupid fast; I've NEVER seen messages upload so quickly on any phone ever.
Mulitouch, the browser, social networking app implementation, and the downloadable applications make this one of Sprint's best smartphones ever offered, period. I'm very, very satisfied with my choice. I had a Moment, and took it back, & within minutes, I noticed how much more customizable and special Hero is.

Only good for the Applications

Pros: Stylish, fun for a minute, thousands of apps (some are cool)
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Price, tracking ball=zoom & push to take pic- it rolls.., taking clear pictures is challenging.
The Camera is so disappointing. The tracking ball is the ZOOM, and what you push to take a picture. So, it's a tracking "ball", it rolls, and obviously it's going to roll, just enough to leave you with a craptastic picture. It takes so much skill and the patience of a chopping block to get a clear picture, that it's almost pointless.
The apps are cool, and fun for now. Probably could of purchased a PSP for cheaper and a good camera phone instead.
If they come out with an app that makes the volume the button to take pictures with, I'll have more respect. They should of flash on it as well. If your looking for a good camera phone, you will be disappointed. I'm returning the phone.
