AVOID SAMSUNG

looking at this phone initially its perfect, a touch screen! windows mobile! 3.2 megapixel camera! a real keyboard! everything i would want in a phone. except the samsung part. this phone freezes up often! i am a very fast texter and this keyboard constantly slurs words together! it doesnt operate at my speed. i am returning this phone for a blackberry tour. at least blackberrys are consistant

The best phone I have ever used

WM6.5, Nice Qwerty, Good overall feel. International SIM card.
Cons: 320 x 280 Screen, Voice volume 10% to low on phone. Slippery back..you have been warned!

Summary: Out of nowhere samsung hit a home run. (did that give the review away?). Did I mention I am more picky with my phones than my cars? First up..Amazing Battery....I have no idea how samsung has done it but its mind altering. This morning I got up and turn every option on the the phone at 8am to ON. Used it all morning multitasking and im at 94% battery at 3PM!!! Never seen anything like it. Great Professional phone. If you need games all day this is not your phone. Clear calls texting and email this is your phone, Speaker phone is very good, however the main phone volume is just a tad soft...another 10% it would have been perfect.....but im sure that uses more battery. Came from a Palm PRO which is a good phone...this is better much better. Cons: Samsung?...why oh why would you use the most slippery plastic know to man on the battery cover? Are you kidding? For 2 cent you could of made a grippy plastic. And while im at it...Windows button and Ok button do not light up? So easy to fix. Ok one minor real gripe....this might be the only deal breaker from you. The small screen. 320 x 280 is ok but for 4 dollars more you could of had a perfect phone at 320 x 320. Which is the only thing that I miss on my Palm PRO. If your mission in life is to surf the web...IPHONE or ANDroid....Having said that, It is perfectly fine for a a few web hits a day and is a serious upgrade from WM6.1 all around.
Summery: Great alternitive for the BB crowd and Professionals. Excellent phone quailty, outstanding battery and a long overdue upgrade for WM. Highly Recommended.

Pros: Stylish
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Price, Confusing interface, Drops calls, not worth the hype, never works right
The phone was supposed to be the best of the best and it has more problems then i can count. I have been throughthree palm pree's. They break really easily. they are just not good phones. You can't assign different ringer for like text messages and voice mails. It is very slow. Just overall not worth it.

Finally the phone I was waiting for

With the limited choices I have with my SERO 500 Plan. This was the best phone I could find that was compatible with my plan. I came off from the Samsung A900 which I loved to use and so did my wife for over 3 years, but when I got this phone, I was very impressed specially it being my first BB type of phone. I love the fact it is a touch-screen and a keyboard along with it at the same time. Personally, I like the windows environment. Overall great for texting, internet, great battery life and awesome call quality. Definitely would recommend it to others.

for those who said the phone froze. didnt happen to me. you should check and make sure you have enough memory available for usage.. it is a windows phone and just like a computer, you need ram and room!
for those of you who mentioned face dialing..
when i bought my phone, the screen turned off for my calls so there is no face dialing.
for those who claim bad battery life.. are you serious? i was online all day and i still didnt have to charge it when i got home.
also i heard a lot of people say this phone is confusing. but if you wanted a phone you fully understood, you should have stayed with your old phone. this phone is a new phone, and learning how to use it is half the fun.
this phone takes great picx, love the layout, keyboard feels good. the dsplay was the only thing i was worried about, but it looks great. a few people said this phone isnt customizable, but it is.. you go under settings then today, and you have a few themes to select from and you can also pick and choose which items you want on your home page. the internet is also great. some people dont like the small font, but you can double tap or use the circle in the lower right hd corner to zoom in, it also lets you back space pick from favorites.. etc. ive been doing research on phones to find th perfect one since the palm pre came out. and i just fell on top of this one..
over all this phone gets a 5 out of 5. its everything ive always wanted.

This is the best phone I have seen from Sprint in 10 years being a customer. Upgrade or buying this phone doesn't require Every thing plan.
So far so good, Great feel with quick response times. People say WM 6.5 isn't that great but I don't see any issues with WM 6.5.
Awesome touchscreen and much better then many high end pda's & Much better than BlackBerry.
No flash for the camera but ok picture quality is good with 3 megapixel camera, Regular headphone jack, Extra microsd card slot to have enough memory for extra fun stuff.
Full size Qwerty keyboard with big keys to type efficiently but small enough to keep the device a good size. You send mails & Chat easily with full size keyboard. Tellme future is good.
Best part is Exellent Batter life, Some times u don't need to charge for days. Audio quality is good, Bluetooth Stereo works great.
This phone comes with SIM card work in 185 countries.
Except the price, Best PDA Phone from Sprint & Samsung.

1. I'd updated WMP with music from a 8g card initially with no problem then I go and add some more content during sync and now it goes thru the update but fails with an error msg that the card is write protected and so files cannot be added. I'll try manf help line to resolve, since other files in other applications are working fine
2. I can't charge the phone in my car using the usb cable and even at my work laptop since I can't install drivers blah, blah etc
3. screen backlighting is funky esp since u cant turn if off when you're using as media player via BT besides turning screen briteness all d way dwn to save pwr.
4. keyboard backlighting is funky esp since the windows and ok buttons have no illumination!

This phone freezes up 30 or more times a day. I have to take the battery out to get it to work. It's almost impossible to make a call on it unless the person is in your phone book. This is due to the fact that it freezes up so you can not acess the touch keypad. It turns itself off whenever it wants to. You think it's on because the screen is still on but if you try and make a call it tells you the phone is off. When you charge it, which is a couple of times a day.. When it reaches full charge and your not there to unplug it.. well it turns the battery off.

So far so good! Great feel with quick response times. WM 6.5 is awesome and the touchflo is a lot better then even my old HTC Pro. No flash for the camera but whaaa! Headphone jack is nice to have and the screen might be a little smaller than the HTC but you cannot tell and the picture quality is very nice. Very nice keyboard with big enough keys to type efficiently but small enough to keep the device a good size. Thumbs up Samsung!

Pros: Great photos, Great sound
I am not a big fan of full touchscreen phones, but I love the touchscreen on this one. It gives me all the functioning of a regular PDA phone, but adds the touchscreen which adds ease to some of the regular functionality - but still allows real button use.

I was not sure if this the right phone for me. Wanted a world tour but in my profession would ruin the trackball. This is my first smartphone and man am I glad that I chose the intrepid. It does everything and more. The battery life is great, lasts two and sometimes three days. This phone is a mobile computer and must treated like one or will be slow. So if the phone is shut down at night then it never has any freeze ups or lag time. Switched from verizon, Sprint has been plans and coverages. Have never dropped a call, sound is crystal clear. If your looking for a phone for personel and business needs this is the phone to get.

Upgraded my moto q to this phone so far so good.like all phones there will always be down sides.from first appearence the phone looked nice.the trim could of been of a more solid material, similiar to the htc diamond.The phone itself is very light compared to the motorola q.I wish the screen could of been a little more bigger and more brighter like the blackberry tour.Windows is a little buggy.It froze on me once since ive got it.
pros: touch screen , battery , app store
cons: bluetooth pairs with headset only, no camera zoom.no ringer profiles, must press side power button to lock screen.
i dont know if other Intrepid users are having the same problem im experiencing in terms of the screen turning off after one minute.Mine just stays on unless i press the side power button.
Also for the bluetooth pairing with other phones.i thinkg it might just be a software issue and hopefully an update will fix the problem.
if your looking to upgrade from the motorola q or pearl then this is the phone for you.it has a few more better features then its competitor the tour but not at bulky as htc diamond 2.

Just recently got the Samsung Intrepid......I love it. I had the Samsung Instinct and I got very tired of everything touchscreen. I was looking for a new phone that was similar to the TREO which I have previously owned (GREAT PHONE too). This phone is such the newer version of a TREO. It's sleek does so much and more! I highly recommend......you have out done yourself Dan Hesse!!!

I upgraded from the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition and i was a little nervous going to a windows mobile from a blackberry. Let me tell you that this phone is awesome. It does everything I wanted it to do and more. The battery life is great. Lasts all day with heavy texting, calling, and web browsing. Recommend this phone

If you like Windows Mobile you'll love this phone. The phone itself pretty solid, has a really nice keyboard, good sound quality, nice camera and bright and clear touchscreen. Speaker phone was ok. I did not like windows mobile and its lack of features/customizations. Internet Explorer is terrible on it (surprise!), but you can get alternative browsers. So if you are already used to Windows Mobile, i would highly recommend this phone. If not, i would recommend trying a palm or android based phone first.

A Solid Phone

I bought this to replace my Treo 700wx and it has not disappointed. Windows 6.5 is very easy to manage and the phone's size and weight make it less burdensome than my old treo. The data speed is fine for my business needs (i am in and out of my office) and the exchange server works great.
