I would not recommend this device, nor this service provider.
The service was not at all satisfactory, very choppy, Not available in remote areas. Verizon works better anywhere, off of my mobile hotspot.

The U301 device was easy to install, the internet connected part it was fast. Now with the device you have to be really careful not to take it out of your computer fast or you will break it.

This device works fine for the first few minutes but after using it for about 30 min or more it gets hot and slows down to a crawl. Disconnect and restart it will do the same thing. One good thing, it's consistently inconsistent . Wish I would of returned it right after I bought it. Big disappointment !

not good

3G connection not a problem but will cost more to use. Very difficult to connect to 4G, will lose signal and disconnects. Very frustrating. Sometimes takes an hour of trying to lock and hold on to a 4G signal. And I am in an area with 4G coverage. But when finally it works, its fine. Have not noticed any notable performance improvement over 3G.
when I first got this thing, I thought something was wrong with it -- would not connect. but now know it is normal.
I'm not giving up on Sprint, just waiting for an improved product.

supposed to get 4g coverage in a bldg. no way. can get it but it does not stay connected on my deck. computer stays at home so i don't know how it works in other areas. very disappointed. breaks easily, just ordered my third one in a yr.

I don't know if this is is just a bad device, or if the Sprint service in my area is poor. But even in 4G markets, I don't see this as being a very fast air card. I am NOT a happy customer. I was doing better with my Verizon PCMCIA air card.

Getting this upgrade was a mistake! VERY SLOW! I've had more problems since this upgrade and wish I could go back to my old data card. PLUS, this does not work well with Kaspersky virus protection.
Streaming is impossible!
I don't know what's worse - the 3G/4G connectivity! Neither seem to work well for an extended period of time.

Sierra Sticks are better

I've used other Sprint Sticks and this is without a doubt a dud. No Good. Takes for ever to initiate and connect on any of my computers. The Sierra sticks I had were a breeze to use and looked better.

works great for surfing the web very limited in downloading and streaming before you max out your monthly amount and charges go through the roof. 5gb is most they offer on it very dissapointing to find out there is no larger plan for this device

EXCELLENT PRODUCT

I've read many of these here and I can't understand why anyone is having problems at all with this product. I use XP on a simple laptop IN MY CAR, with GPS software, Google Earth loaded, listening to FIRE broadcasts and receiving emails WHILE moving, and I have NOTHING but praise about this unit. I just can't imagine why I didn't do this before. 5 Stars all the way across to Sprint and this product.

Currently awful with OS X on 4G

Lovely with 3G but that's not unlimited usage is it? The 4G is awesome, fast, and for the 30 minutes it's working for at a time it's pure heaven.
But the Franklin U301 drivers are beta quality at best. I'm taking this back and getting the Overdrive.

Great for its unlimted 4G.

As stated , for the unlimted 4g great at times when you can have a strong signal...speed varies from 600kb to 1.6mb/sec was the highest i have seen thus far. Have yet to completely lose connectivity , so huge plus. So if your in a 4G converage area , get this...no need to look elsewhere.Wont regret it.

I like the 3g speeds you can go anywhere with it. After a long time of not useing you it it will cut off on it own that a good for a busy mom like myself.
