WORST PHONE OF MY LIFE!!!!

Cons: Did not meet expectations, Drops calls, charger port
I got this phone last summer and have gone through SIX of them since then! SIX!!! The same problem happens with every single one of them: the charger port gets lose and it turns itself off! I know this thing is probably off the market by now, and it should be! I've had probably 6 different phones since I started using cell phones and this is by far the worst one I have used thus far. DONT DO IT!

Rumor, I've had no issues, but lots have.

I've had my phone for a year now. I've had no problems with it. None. One of my friends in college had to replace his every couple weeks. But he treated it like garbage. one year, same phone the whole time, no problems, as i stated. Only thing i really don't like is that you can't set your music files as ring tones. All in all, i like the phone, the feel of the texting, and i don't have a data plan, so i haven't run into any errors like some of the people writing reviews have.

Lucky...

I suppose i could also say im lucky as well. I have had this phone for a year and still have my original one with only very minor problems and i have had this phone go through hell since I have had it. The only problems I have ever had with this phone is, yes it sometimes just shuts off on me (mainly while browsing the internet) and it doesnt have very compatiable software. Half of the picture mail i receive i cant view and the ones that i do receive the video and audio are separated and half to be viewed and heared seperately. Having no light or flash on the camera is also a big drag...but overall if you take care of it this can be a very good phone.

I had to replace my first rumor after only 4 months. The charging port got lose over time, and wouldn't charge. The phone decided itself when it wanted to turn off randomly and finally one time it just didn't turn back on when i tried. I find that this phone lags, i constantly wait for the phone to catch up when i scroll through the phone and even when i am typing a text. Though i do love the full keypad for texting, its the only positive thing i can say about this phone. Dont waste your money.

I bought my phone last October, and it worked fine until I washed it. Even then just the battery shorted out! I recommend this phone, unless you have horrible luck like some other reviewers and have them die constantly, then its a great phone with good features.

The Gladiator Phone!

I have been very satisfied with the Rumor. I have had it for a year now with no problems at all. I lost it after getting stuck in a blizzard in SD for 24 hours and thought it was gone for good and three weeks later a DOT worker called me and said they had found my phone on the side of the road and sent it back to me. I turned it on and everything on the phone is prefect and I still use it today. It's a gladiator for sure. Deffinitly worth the money.

3 Days and I'm sorry I bought this already

Just got the Rumor a few days ago and haven't figured it all out yet, but I know already that the sound is terrible -- both incoming and outgoing, the charger is hard to connect and disconnect. People I'm talking to complain constantly about not hearing me well, and I just can't get the incoming sound right. I've tried holding the phone at just about every angle and distance from my ear while trying various sound levels and it's still awful. For the past 5 years I've had the cheapest Nokia phone Sprint sells and the sound and comfort of use was great! This is crap. Also ring tones and melodies that come with it are terrible, too.

Gotta Disagree...much better than expected

After reading the last few dozen reviews of this phone, I wanted to write one of my own. I've owned this ONE phone for TWO years - since the first week it came out, so its value to me - ROCKS. Size is good compared to other QWERTY texters. Battery - replaced it once in two years and it performs as advertized, close to 5 hours continuous talk, text, media use and recharges completely in under 2 hours from either car and home charger. The looks are pretty good - small screen compared to other texters/browsers, easy, solid and reliable buttons on front keypad, QWERTY keyboard is inadequate (no numbers or symbols unless you shift/lock, BTW fixed on the Rumor2) and several buttons occasionally stick (specificlly the "A", "Q", and "Z"). Performance is average/above average for a non-3/4G phone as are features and software - nothing special here except maybe the utility converter and the hot key access on the OK dial which are great. Would have been rated higher if it had voice dial...All around, great phone for a texter, not a surfer, but more than adequate if you want brouse the internet. I've dropped this phone from my second story, put the battery back in, and POOF, no problem. Whoever is replacing these like candy either is crazy hard on their phone (GET A RUGGEDIZED PHONE), or can't seem to not drop it in water (FUMBLE FINGERS!~). Better go with the Rumor2 with the improved keyboard...this one is pretty much on its last legs technologically.

Seriously annoying

This has to be the worst phone I have ever had. I have never had so many problems with a phone... it randomly turns itself off at least five times a day, freezes up so that I have to take the battery out... the keyboard keys sometimes don't work and I have to press them several times for them to work... I'm really beginning to wish I'd gone with another phone. If I were you, I would stay away from the LG Rumor... it sucks.

It's Good, but not the best.

I had this phone for 2 yrs and it lasted pretty long. The charger port has issues, but other then that it still works fine. i dont do much with my phone besides calling and texting. if you are a big internet user this phone is not for you.

I have had this phone for 6 months and it is not all it's cracked up to be. The phone randomly cuts off for no reason, even when I'm not using it. It has cut off on me up to 5 times at once while trying to text! The camera has no zoom and the picts don't come out that great. The video on it is short and not good either. I wouldn't even buy it for my son...just not a good quality phone. I don't suggest anyone getting it.

It works...just not great

I have had my Rumor for close to a year. The chrager does not connect to the port well at all and I have to set it down very carefully to make sure it stays connected to charge. The camera on this phone is terrible and the pics all look very grainy. My volume buttons on the side of the phone no longer work so I have to go into the settings and manually change it when I need to turn the phone on silent. Music sounds terrible. Connecting to the internet and getting my email to work was a nightmare as well. Also, it randomly freezes or turns off. I cannot wait to get a new phone!

I am on my 3rd rumor.....(2 in 2 weeks) The 1st one shut off whenever it wanted. I could not download some applications because of a "handler" phone would shut off instead of doing the function. After some time, it said that an earpiece was attached, when it was not. when that happened the phone was unusable at all. Finally took it in,
we won't even go into the hassle that was......got a "new" (refurbished) phone (supposed to be good as new!)
Had the phone for ONE WEEK. Went to go pick it up one morning, and it said the usb cable was connected!
I don't even HAVE a data cable for the phone. Then it gave messages that I could transfer data (which of course makes the phone unusable again.) Not to mention that the bluetooth did not work with that phone. I know it worked with the prior phone.
Bad isn't even the word for this phone. It is hands down the worst phone I have ever owned. The only reason I am not upgrading is because I don't want to start another 2 year contract right now, otherwise it would be gone!
It remains to be seen what happens with my new refurbished phone. I am very skeptical.

This is my second rumor i really like the keypad set up it was very comfortable for me so after the first phone started turning off randomly,keypad would freeze up and wouldn't take a charge i thought maybe i just got a lemon. But i really liked the phone when it was working so i gave it another try. Unfortunately i just think these are poorly made phones because i am having all the same problems again and some new ones too! argh! go for another phone if you are looking for the full keypad this phone is lame! The camera is also pretty lame if that is a concern for anyone unless you are somewhere super well lit you aren't getting a photo from this phone.

I know after a while phones have problems but I haven't had this phone very long. When I use certain features like email or web the phone shuts off. There's no flash for camera and no zoom feature for video. The key pad is good and I like how it slides out but other than that, I wish I had never got phone.

The phone will randomly shut off for no particular reason. I loved it when I first bought it because of the sliding feature and QWERTY keyboard. Since then, I don't always receive texts and they don't always make it to the recipient (which is the reason I bought the phone since I text more than talk). The camera picture quality is OK but not great. I've had the phone for over a year and can't wait to get something different. If not for the faulty mechanics it would be awesome.
