I purchased these phones because of their direct connect feature. We have used our old Nextel phones for the past 15 years when we find out that as of next year they will be obsolete. We decided to make the switch early because one one our old Motorala Nextel phones needed replacing and replaced all of our phones to the Dura XT. Our old phones were great. We never had a problem with them out on job sites. These new phones have been a nightmare. When I activated the phones there was a back log and it took the representative from Sprint 5 hours to download the information to get them going. She called back several times that day to say she was still working on them. After they were activated the direct connect hardly ever works, the batteries don't last long and now our employees are using their personal cell phones to communicate because these phones are garbage. One employee said he wanted the throw the phone against a wall because he was so frustrated with it. I am in the process of trying to get them replaced. I really can't say anything good about them. I would caution you not to buy the phones if you just need the direct connect service until Sprint irons out the bugs in the transition from the Nextel towers. Maybe next year the direct connect would be better.
ConsDid not meet expectations, Drops calls, bad direct connet
